The global COVID-19 pandemic has revealed what decades of global health research has shown all along: the emergency department is the diagnostic, quality, patient safety, admission, economic and efficiency engine of the hospital system. However, emergency care systems around the world are vastly underdeveloped, and even where they exist, emergency care systems have long been “running in the red”: under-staffed, under-trained, under-equipped, under-appreciated and misunderstood.
Originally published in July 2020 by SECOURS Magazine in a SPECIAL ISSUE by 70 authors from 11 countries who contributed to this historical issue, giving their #feedback on how they dealt with the #COVIDー19#crisis.
