I have 20+ years of experience in emergency medicine (EM) and international EM development in over 60 countries. I've assisted in establishing physician residencies in emergency medicine, emergency medicine national and regional professional societies, training schools and programs for paramedics and emergency nursing, established EM as a national medical specialty, established and worked with relief agencies for underserved areas, disaster medicine and disaster programs, hospital disaster preparedness programs, and taught and established emergency care and hospital trauma system development in over 30 countries. I've delivered over 1000 hundred lectures, conferences and symposia nationally and internationally for over 50 national and international Societies of EM. I'm a Secretary / Executive Board member of the International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM), a Board Member of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine, past Board member & co-founder of the African Federation for Emergency Medicine (AFEM), a past editor for the African Journal of Emergency Medicine, and an editor of Emergency Physicians International magazine.
